When I came in today, I asked Philip if anything special had happened over the weekend. He said, "Backhoe." After looking for cool videos of backhoes on You-Tube, Philip wrote the following:
I see backhoe outside driveway yard. use ride throw dirt. Dad get backward in forward. He is rent Home Depot. work build pool.

Hi Philip,
I liked your video. It is always interesting to watch machines like backhoes work. I think your hobby is machines. Every big machine is made up of combinations of the six simple machines: lever, wheel and axle, inclined plane, pulley, wedge, and screw. Did you learn that in school like I did?
